Married life, for us, won’t be really much different than our unmarried lives right now–at least in a sense of place and routine. We live together and therefore enter marriage preprogrammed knowing the habits, preferences, and quirks of our future spouse.
But, our engaged-to-be-married life is a pleasant one. Recently, J has been meeting me at the train station with a grin and strong hug after work. We argue less than we used to; perhaps we are becoming more in-tune to what the other is not saying. We’re cooking more, cuddling more, and smiling more.
Yesterday, we went to Trader Joes after work with a shopping list consisting of four items. Midway through our shop, the cart’s practically full and oldies are blasting over the loud speaker. Some Motown hit comes on, and I start dancing in the peanut butter aisle, singing at a moderate volume. J smiles and shakes his head, thinking that I’m just chiming in for a chorus. However, I continue; the aisle is empty, and I know all the words.
“You’re going crazy,” he pokes me, looking around. But, he’s got a big grin on his face, and that’s all I care about.
Love is singing and dancing–in a grocery store–or maybe just being supportive of your fiancee doing that around you π

Y’all are too cute. But yeah, love is definitely not being embarrassed by your significant other randomly singing. I make sure that everyone I date is able to withstand this mild quirk.
Sarah, this is my favorite post of your whole blog and I read every single one! So happy for both of you!
π Aw, thanks, Laura!

I’m pretty sure the song was “It’s in His Kiss.” And the aisle wasn’t empty…that’s why I love you!
Speaking of TJ’s, we had some awesome arugula pizza last night, n’est-ce pas? I can’t believe we’ve never done that before!
I could not remember the song for the life of me, omg. Good song! Well, even if the aisle wasn’t completely empty, at least people weren’t really nearby…
Yeah, the pizza did rock! Nice job rolling out the crust. I think one reason we haven’t done it is that you kept saying that you’d make pizza dough from scratch which, to date, still hasn’t happened π Shortcuts lead to better food for us! π
